How Much Colloidal Silver Should I Give my Dog?
• Large Dogs – 2-4 Tablespoons per dose
• Medium Dogs – 2-6 teaspoons per dose
• Small Dogs – 1-2 teaspoons per dose
How Much Colloidal Silver Should I Give My Cat?
• Large Cats 1-2 teaspoons per dose
• Small Cats – up to 1 teaspoon per dose
• Kittens – ¼ -1/2 teaspoon per dose
If a dog or cat is not responding as desired, it is perfectly fine to increase the dose.
Cuts, Scrapes, Sores:
Cuts, Scrapes, Sores, Gashes or Skin Tears: Soak a gauze dressing pad with Colloidal Silver, tape or secure to affected area. Change dressing daily until healing is obvious.
Ears: Hearing Loss:
Use a few drops of Colloidal Silver in each ear twice daily, look for a hearing improvement after about 10 days. Try whistling or loudly calling the animals name to see if you get a response.
Ear Infections:
Apply Colloidal Silver to a cotton pad and wipe inside and outside of the ear. Apply 1 x drop of Colloidal Silver in each affected ear once in the morning and once at night for 7 to 10 days. (Increase dosage if necessary.) If the infection is in the inner ear continue treatment for 2 to 3 weeks. Spray Colloidal Silver on the affected area twice daily for 7 to 10 days. Let the Colloidal Silver air dry before your dog has a chance to lick it off.
Teeth:
For inflamed gums and or excessive plaque brush the teeth once daily with Colloidal Silver to eliminate any gum disease and bacteria that causes plaque and bad breath.
Tick-Borne Diseases
Tick-borne diseases like Ehrlichia and Lyme disease respond to colloidal silver. This natural antibiotic does not come with the typical side effects associated with doxycycline which is usually prescribed to treat tick-borne diseases. Colloidal silver can also be used long term if necessary without the concern of causing a systemic yeast infection associated with traditional antibiotics.
Urinary Tract Infections
Dogs and cats with urinary tract infections can take colloidal silver 4 times daily. If the pet is lethargic, an eyedropper can be used to dose the colloidal silver. Because it is almost tasteless, this remedy is less traumatic to sensitive pets than other oral remedies.
Respiratory Illnesses
Even if the specific cause of a respiratory illness is unknown, colloidal silver can be used to treat respiratory illnesses. In addition to internal use, it can be added to the ears or even squirted up the nostrils if needed. If a nebulizer is available and the pet is cooperative, it is possible to use a nebulizer to get colloidal silver into the lungs. 2-5 ml is typically used in a nebulizer at a time. Nebulizers are used as many as four times daily, or as needed.
Candida Infections
Colloidal silver has antifungal properties and can be used on a daily basis to fight a systemic yeast infection. It can be used internally and externally simultaneously if needed to treat yeast problems.
Diarrhoea
Whether diarrhoea is caused by infection or food poisoning, colloidal silver is a useful remedy. In addition to using colloidal silver, plenty of fluid (water, broth or children’s oral rehydration solution) should be given to prevent dehydration.
Vomiting

Colloidal silver is useful for oral care of dogs and cats. Bad breath, bleeding gums or mouth infections respond to colloidal silver. Colloidal silver can be swabbed or sprayed into the mouth twice a day or as needed.
Prophylactic Use
If a dog or cat is prone to infections, a daily dose of colloidal silver may be helpful to prevent frequent infections. Simply use the suggested dose listed above once daily.
Cysts:
It’s always advisable to have your vet remove one to be tested for cancer. Assuming the cyst is benign spray each cyst with Colloidal Silver twice daily. Eventually it will turn a dark black colour and burst and will look like dried blood. Once it dries simply comb the remains out of the hair.
External Use of Colloidal Silver for Pets
